Ora Organic Trust Your Gut probiotic comes in capsules and powder and is a vegan probiotic.
In this Ora Organic Probiotic Review, I will share my own real experience with Ora Organics Trust Your Gut Probiotic and Prebiotic capsules.
By the end of this review, you will have learned something new from my research.
Ora Organic Probiotic Ingredients & Strains
Lactobacillus Acidophilus DDS-1
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover clinical trial was published in 2016 through the Bio Med Central journal.
It looked at the effects of Lactobacillus Acidophilus DDS-1 on individuals who had a diagnosis of Lactose Intolerance.
The aim was to see if it could have any impact on diarrhea, cramping, and other general irritable bowel syndrome symptoms of a Lactose Intolerant person when has after consuming dairy.
The conclusion of the trial was the DDS-1 strain was "safe to consume" and was able to "improve" abdominal symptoms when taking the strain vs taking a placebo capsule for 4-weeks but it could not cure lactose intolerance.
Bifidobacterium lactis UABla-12
A 2017 Randomized Controlled Trial published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition looked at if Bifidobacterium Lactis UABLA-12 could help children who had acute respiratory infections.
The study claimed that probiotics used long-term had shown promise previously in occasionally reducing the risk of ARI's but this trial would look at the short-term implications.
After dropouts, 215 children were asked to take 5-Billion CFU of a probiotic containing L. Acidophilus DDS-1 and B. Lactis UABla-12 when a family member showed signs of being sick.
Compared to a placebo group who did not take any probiotics, it was found that the bacteria didn't stop the ARI but it did reduce the length of time the ARI lasted suggesting it did have some impact on immunity.
Lactobacillus Reuteri UALre-16
There are currently no public studies related specifically to the Lactobacillus Reuteri UALre-16 strain but there are quite a few on L. Reuteri.
This 2018 review from the Frontiers In Microbiology looked at the overall effects of the L. Reuteri strain.
The review started by claiming the strain was able to attach well to mucin, intestinal epithelia, and epithelial cells making it promising for conditions like Leaky Gut, IBD or Ulcerative Colitis that effect the intestines.
It was found that the strain had antimicrobial effects on pathogens and also the ability to modulate the immune system through the gut.
Bifidobacterium Bifidum UABb-10
This 2019 Randomized Controlled Trial looked at the effects of a 1.5 billion CFU multi-strain probiotic supplement that contained the specific Bifidobacterium bifidum UABb-10 strain.
The trial tested if the probiotic bacteria could have any effect on the microbiome bacteria composition and bowel habits in 94 individuals with constipation.
For 4-weeks every day, groups either took a placebo or the real probiotic. The results showed no differences in symptom scores but bowel functions were modulated faster and fibrolytic microbiota was shown in the probiotic group.
Bifidobacterium Breve UABbr-11
As of 2022, there are no studies for the specific Bifidobacterium Breve UABbr-11 strain but a 2019 proof of concept study on closely related Bifidobacterium Breve A-1 can give us some insight.
The Japanese study explored the gut & brain connection by testing the B. Breve A-1 strain on 29 schizophrenic patients for 4-weeks then following a period of the same time frame that checked symptom scores, blood, and stool samples.
After taking the bacteria every day it was found that anxiety/depression scores were improved, fewer negative symptoms were reported, and higher levels of Parabacteroides in the gut suggesting it had an effect on Dysbiosis and IL-22 and TRANCE expression increased.
Bifidobacterium Longum UABI-14
Bifidobacterium Longum UABI-14 has not been studied but a 2005 study from the University of Dundee in Scotland tested B. Longum with Synergy 1 Prebiotics on 18 patients with Ulcerative Colitis through a randomized controlled pilot trial.
Versus placebo sigmoidoscopy scores were reduced, and so were inflammatory cytokines, interleukin 1α, and Tumour necrosis factor α. Amazingly, a biopsy showed that epithelial tissue was regeneration and inflammation was reduced.
The conclusion said that short-term treatment showed improvement for Ulcerative Colitis through clinical appearance.
Organic Jerusalem Artichoke
Jerusalem Artichoke is a root vegetable native to Central America and hailing from the sunflower family. Their taste can be akin to a nutty flavor but as a prebiotic fiber you don't pick up any tastes.
They are high in inulin which is a type of prebiotic fiber that may have the ability to alter gut microbiota and the alteration of short chain fatty acids.
In terms of prebiotics, Jerusalem Artichoke is one of the best and has been well studied. Each capsule of Ora Organics Probiotic contains 625mg.

Ora Organic offers a fairly strict 30-day refund policy and they claim they have "no obligation to provide a refund" for any of their supplements including the probiotic. The refund policy on Amazon is a lot better which is something to keep in mind.
Ora organic currently ships its supplements to the US, Canada, UK, New Zealand, and Australia. Shipping costs are different based on the destination, and you will see a breakdown of the shipping fees before checking out. Shipping costs are lower if you subscribe to any of their supplements.
My Experience With Ora Organic Probiotic Capsules
I had a good experience with Ora Organic, and the capsules were easy to swallow. I took the capsules every morning on an empty stomach as it is considered the best time to take probiotic supplements.
After taking these capsules for a couple of weeks, I noticed an increase in my overall energy levels, I also noticed my bloating and acid reflux improved.
I'm not sure if this was Ora or something else. Interestingly on that point, Ora Organic capsules are Acid Resistant and should survive your stomach acid to provide its full benefits.
The 16-Billion CFU count seems fair, although I was afraid that the CFU count may be stronger and may lead to some side effects. Thankfully, I did not experience any side effects.
Although one needs to be always careful when taking probiotics as bloating, gas and stomachache are among the common side effects of probiotics. If you face any substantial side effects, then it may be best to discontinue the probiotic capsules.
The vast majority of reviews about these probiotic capsules are positive on Amazon. Only occasionally will you come across a negative review or a customer who says that these did not help at all. Ora Organic is gluten free, dairy free, has no filler ingredients, and free from artificial flavors.
Ora Organic Probiotic Reviews
Out of all the Probiotic's on Amazon, Ora Organics "Trust Your Gut" is up there with the best. The amount of reviews is higher than the competition, and the 4.5 rating is testament to the quality of the Probiotic.
Rebecca mentioned in her 5-star review that after taking Birth Control, she was left with uncomfortable bloating, and she believed her gut flora was altered.
In the first week of taking the probiotic, she experienced Diarrhea side effects, but after her gut adjusted, she mentioned she noticed a dramatic change with her bloating. This indicates that Ora Organic is a Probiotic that works.
LT is a vegan who makes an effort to make sure all the products he consumes are animal-free. Ora Organic was a good choice for him since it is entirely vegan, and it was also cheaper than a lot of other similar vegan probiotics. LT also travels regularly and appreciated that he doesn't need to refrigerate Ora. Like Rebecca, he gave Ora 5 stars.
It is next to impossible to find a Probiotic without a 1-star review online. The simple fact is that no one body is the same, and everyone will react differently to Ora Organic Probiotics.
S.Lynn gives an insight into what can happen if you don't get positive results in her 1-star review. She said it was the worst probiotic she had ever taken and that it left her too bloated. She discontinued use immediately.
Final Thoughts
Ora Organic Trust your gut probiotics is a high-quality product that delivers on its promises. Their phone number is (858) 429-5591, their address is 411 W Monroe St, Austin, Texas, 78704, United States and you can email them at [email protected].
The company has been around for years, and they have thousands of positive reviews on Amazon and other sites.
The capsules are easy to swallow and do not leave any bad aftertaste in your mouth. I was also lucky not to experience any side effects after taking these capsules.
I would give Ora Organic Trust Your Gut a 4 out of 5 rating and have only not given them a 5-star rating only due to the high cost as these probiotic capsules seem to be quite expensive compared with some other options out there.
If you experience any discomfort you should discontinue use and consult with a Doctor immediately. For full disclosure, I am not a doctor and the content in this post does not constitute medical advice.
